Also wellknown American high school and college runners such as Alan Webb, Andrew Wheating, Josh Kerr and Drew Hunter have as teenagers made big annual jumbs depending on when they started to train seriously.
Webb: Improved his his mile time from 4.06.94 at 16, to 4.03.33 at 17 and famously to 3:53.43 at 18.
Wheating: He started late but improved his mile time 4:20.55 at 18 to 3:58.16 at 20 and 3:51.74 at 22.
Josh Kerr: He improved his 1500m time 3:58.87 at 15 to 3:52.46 at 16, 3:44.12 at 17, 3:41.08 at 18, 3:35.99 at 19 and 3:32.52 at 22.
Drew Hunter; Improved his mile time 4:10.94 at 16 to 4:02.36 at 17, 3:57.15 at 18 and 3:56.79 at 19. Further he improved his 5000m time 13:49.56 at 19 to 13:21.18 at 21.
My point is that Nico - if he trains seriously and effeciently - will be able to experience similar big jumbs in his development. I won´t be surprised if he this year improves his 1500 time to around 3:40 to 3:41 similar to a mile time below 4:00. I will add that Nico seems to rely very much on his aerobic capacity why he should do relatively better on the 2 miles and the 5.000m
