Interesting, if you look up VO2 max records there are plenty of known & suspected dopers on those lists.

Because Dan Howitt is a lunatic and I'm curious if he is ever going to figure out how format a document so it doesn't look like trash and reads like the same. He keeps adding and rehashing things he says is evidence but when you look deeper, it doesn't support his conspiracy theories. He simply dismisses any evidence that doesn't support his lunatic views as "fabricated". He is not neutral, Dan Howitt has a big hard on for Jornet.
The only thing interesting in Howitt's ramblings are the 4 witnesses he says he contacted that say they didn't see Jornet near the summit into he first day. But I don't trust Howitt to be telling the truth or presenting what they said neutrally.

It's not that simple. There was plenty of questionable or unethical conduct by Jornet even outside of his GPS data where most of it doesn't even exist for the second day.
Two questions.
1) Did he 100% cheat on purpose? When we were exploring the ultra scene thanks to Hoka's sponsorship, I talked to a guy about Jornet and Everest and it didn't seem to bother him. It certainly bothers me. But the question I have is it possible he thinks he scaled it but was confused because of visibility or brain fogginess?

Re your first query. The summit is unmistakable. In the report on Jornet, there are many pictures of the summit. It is clear when a climber reaches it and when a climber has not. He did this twice on Everest, May 22 and May 27.
Jornet went back to Everest again in 2019. Failed. He turned back in a similar place to where he turned back twice in 2017.

1) Hallucinations are common in high altitude mountaineering (read some of Reinhold Messner’s books). I don’t recall anyone saying that they imagined/hallucinated reaching a summit when they actually didn’t.
2) Testing is lax to nonexistent in ultrarunning. Jornet is one of only a few MUT runners making a very good living off the sport. The opportunity and tangible benefits are there.

There is a lower summit on the way up to Everest (8848m). (Nuplse is 7900m. Lhotse is 8500m. ) It is likely he climbed to the top of some lower peak in the dead of night and assumed he "made" it. He may also have been slight stoned while doing the event.

This is what bothered me too. Saving the money shot for the film is a lame idea tbh because the movie now becomes “did he or didn’t he?” And I’ll just look on the forums for spoilers and save myself the money.
