Does a girls HS 25.5, 58, 2:15 get any college consideration

As for the 3 girls who've run 25.5 or faster on your team, their success in the 200 has virtually nothing to do with you and everything to do with their DNA.

Take a deep breath. So it "isn't impossible" for a person who runs 25.5 to run run a fast 800 meters. Right? WTF are we arguing about?

The 120th senior last year ran 2:15 while the 120th sophomore ran 2:16. The average girl doesn't improve in the 800 from sophomore year to senior year. That means for every one that improves by 5 seconds, there is one who declines by about 4 seconds. So getting back on track, it is why several people said that this girl is on track to do some good things but that coaches are smart enough not to start recruiting a sophomore because she may be running 2:10 by senior year or she may be running 2:20. But she won't be running 2 flat because there has never been a 2 flat girl or woman who did not run faster than 2:15 as a sophomore.

If you run under 2:10, you've got an decent shot at scoring in any DI conference. You're not getting a full ride off a 2:15 as a high school senior, but if you run that as a HS sophomore who doesn't run year round, coaches will put you on their radar. If the grades are good and your athlete can run 2:12 by her junior year, then she's probably looking at close to a full ride with a combination of athletic and academic aid. Throw in some federal grant money depending on parents' income and should be all set.

depends on a lot of things, how developed is she? What is her build? A bulldog or a gazelle?

2:12 junior year with average ACT of 25 and family income of $100k will get her no federal aid, no academic scholarships, and a 20% athletic scholarship. So if she heads out of state or private, that has her paying $40k. Attend in state and you are under $20k.

While some of the advice on here is good, a lot of it prescribes more to the highest elite level D1 schools and even that is exaggerated. 2:15 by a Junior by itself will earn some scholarships from several D1 schools including a lot of Power 5s.

I'm aware of an athlete that was around 57, 2:13, 4:58 and 10:40 who is getting well over half at a top distance school.

My advice:

Keep training to be the best you can be

Don't put times ahead of developing at the correct pace tho

If there are schools she is interested in, fill out the forms, email the coaches, get them to know her

Ask her coach to email the coaches

I would guess with 25.5 and 58 speed she has a legit shot to be under 2:13 as a Junior and then it's just about finding the right situation.
