Katelyn Tuohy is the G.O.A.T

She is the best HS XC runner of all time regardless of what she does in college. But I hate when the topic is entirely about running and people have to throw other things into the discussion. Did she get a 36 on her ACT? Nobody really knows and how does that pertain to her running? Obviously she chose her college for running. If she was leveraging her scholarship to get into the best academic school, she would have chosen Notre Dame or Stanford.

NC State's #3,and 4 who return were right with Stanford's #4 and 5 who also return. Some are saying these NC State girls may not even may their top 7 next year. I am not sure I believe that thoguh. Dudek should basically offset loss of O'keefe, but Stanford's 4 and 5 will need to step up - at least on paper.

Tuohy will have solid teammates to train with in college. It’s going to help her. She did not have a teammate at her level to train with in high school.

I agree with you. Most people don’t realize that NC State’s true #3 had a very off day at Nationals and was 7th. If that would not have happened The Wolfpack would have been on the podium. But NC State is losing their #1 and low stick. Stanford has two good low sticks coming back. You have to respect that!

I'm telling you Stanford is going to be right in the mix with NC State. They have 6 of their 7 returning as well as picking up Dudek. I think the wildcard addition will be Starcher. She is an athlete that has never had a team to trained with and has done everything she has own her own against the clock. She has phenomenal turn over and mile speed. Give her a good solid few months training with the elite already at Stanford and she will be one of their top five. We are talking 2:07 800, 4:38 mile, low 10's 2 mile .

No offense, but your Starcher point is weak. First of all she is injury prone. It was her second major injury in high school....are things going to get easier and better in college? No! They will be careful with her and maybe redshirt her for now. And for her not having a team?????? What elite runner has had a team to help them??????? Starliper? Tuohy? Hart? Ewert? Dudek? No, no, no, no, and no! None of these girls have teammates to help them and push them. What you said about Starcher is true for all these girls. If you follow your logic, then watch out for Tuohy and Starliper who have done everything by themselves, and now they will be training partners and equals! Starcher will not be a factor for Stanford this fall in XC! She will not be in the top 7.

People are forgetting the Katelyn Tuohy still had a dominant year in Cross Country. She averaged a 166 speed rating and hit 170. I don't think anyone else averaged over 156. She also evidently ran Great American faster than the number 10 NCAA athlete. I think she still has a good shot to be the best freshman cross country Runner. And I think starliper and Dudek will be closed which is basically even for Stanford an NCAA state

Anyway I think NCAA state will have a real shot to win it because if you add Claire Walters and possibly Hendrix into the mix those girls have a shot to the top 20 maybe 30 in the country as well. If you add the girls they already have they could possibly have three top 10 Runners and five top 25 runners

It sure is gonna stink getting knocked out of the top 7 for N.C. State for those who were in the top 7 last year

What do you mean? We're complimenting her on a great High School career. Anyway from the looks of it a high school career is pretty much over so I think she can just look forward to college now. I don't think this is putting any added pressure on her because she's a top athlete and she's obviously going to try to do our best in college so. It's all good. Anyway I think these athletes are inspired that people are interested and honestly I think it's a lot more positive than anything else

I mean obviously that's part of the excitement that people are interested and I think it motivates people to do their best. Anyway she's awesome and we're awesome. Everyone's awesome. Let's just stay healthy and enjoy being awesome. NC State's going to rock next year. I don't know what else to say.

Of course she's flattered! Big inspiration people are cheering her on! No pressure, mean she's going to try to run her fastest regardless, so nice to know at least people care.

It's not just the lack of teammates for Starcher. I read a great article on her last year, and she has to go through a lot just to train at all. There aren't many places that are safe to run where she lives in West Virginia, and she had to join a club and drive quite a ways to train with them several days a week. She is pretty dedicated, and I think in some ways college training will be a lot easier for her. I can't wait to see how she runs after time at Stanford. I think she is going to be awesome.

Hendrix and Schulz will be good too. Hendrix will probably follow a similar trajectory to former training partner Hertenstein, who was an All-American this year (although she had better races this season). Clairmonte, Howlett, Shaw, Mareno, and Zachgo all return as well. They have a very deep team.

I think Hendrix and Schulz would be better off redshirting. They couldn’t finish close to Starliper, Walters, or Tuohy, so they would have trouble cracking the top 5 or even the top 7 on the team next fall.

Stanford will score 75 points. NC State will score 125.

NC state got a top 20 transfer as well... they could have 7 in top 20 and 3 or 4 in top 10..... no way NC state is scoring over 90... maybe as low as 65... 70....
