I just have to say. As someone who grew up playing tennis and am of an age that can remember wood rackets, all this worrying and fretting on this board about "the integrity of the sport" is an utter joke to me. I would say it is ruining the sport of T&F except that the sport is so far from anyone's minds that there is not much to ruin anyway.
It was all about sponsorship dollars.
Country A swim federation is sponsored by Acme Swim. But the athletes want to wear Beta Swim which is their personal sponsor.
From that point on who wants to sponsor any swim federation?

But it only certain athletes had access to the metal rackets it would be unfair. And that’s where we were and some might say are with new prototypes constantly coming out.
