So, tenth changes to Bashir Abdi and the two Japanese already written about above, move to 11th and 12th. Bashir is 30yo and ranked 118. His best is 2.07.03 for 7th in London this year usurping his Rotterdam result from last year, 7th for 2.10.46. His PB for 10k was set this year as well, winning Schoorl in 28.07 and his best over the half was last year at the Great North Run, third for 60.42. He was 5th in that run 2 weeks ago in 61.11.
Next female (12th) should be the aforementioned Maegan Krifchin, 31yo and ranked 472. Has five marathon times under 2.34. But with a PB over the half of 69.51 in winning Philly in 2015; like lots of other distance runners, will she always be disappointed if she cannot once get closer to 2.30 for the classic distance? As I have said earlier in this thread, Krifchin was ordinary at the Philly half two weeks ago. So ordinary that she was beaten almost by a minute by Keira D’Amato and only just beat Bria Wetsch home. Ran her PB last year at CIM, 8th in 2.32.47. Best on a record eligible course was in 2017, winning in Kobe. That was six weeks after 7th here in 2.33.46.
13th finisher may be Ryoma Takeuchi, 27yo and ranked 292. He shares his name with a 26yo actor and model. His best time was achieved with an 11th place in Beppu in Feb, 2.11.20. Previous fastest was 2.14.28 for 14th in Oita in 2017. Also that year was 4th in Sydney in 2.16.00. Has never really mastered the half, best of only 64.24.
Thirteenth woman could be Lauren Martin-Masterton, turning 28 on the day after this event and ranked 559 as a road runner. Her best is 2.33.25 at the CIS last year for 10th place, taking 4.17 off her time in the same city, Sacramento, the year before. Lauren’s best half time of 75.43 for fifth in San Diego 2017 was not as quick as her first half of that marathon PB, where Martin made the metaphorical turn for home at 75.07.

14th man may be Yuta Takahashi, 26yo and ranked 296. There is another runner of the same name that is 32yo and run up to a half marathon, but not since 2017 after his first in 2006. This Yuta competing here made his debut over the classic distance in March in Lake Biwa, 12th in 2.11.25 only five weeks after running his fastest half of 61.52 for ninth in Marugame.
Next lady should be Lindsey Anderson, 29yo and ranked 430. Not to be confused with Lindsey Olson-Anderson. This Lindsey was 12th here last year in 2.36.51 and was quicker in LA earlier this year, 6th in 2.34.45 [first half in 1.18.26, so motored home].
15th across the line might be Scott Smith, 33yo and ranked 530. PB was 2017, 8th in Frankfurt, 2.12.21. Impressed this year over 25k in Grand Rapids: second in 75.06. Best at the half was 2017 in Houston, 13th in 63,16. Was sixth in Boston last year in awful conditions.
Fifteenth female may be Christina Vergara, born 81 so either 37 or 38yo and ranked 430. Was 39th in Boston in 2.43.40. More in a minute.

23rd woman may be Christina Vergara-Aleshire, who is 37yo and ranked 414. Has had some impressive drops in her marathon times in the last 5 years culminating in a 2.34.24 last year on a course not recognised for a record, Los Angeles, coming 4th. The previous year was her best time on an official course, Chicago, 15th in 2.38.33.

Back to 16th in the men, it should be Tsubasa Hayakawa, 29yo and ranked 316. His PB’s for the marathon and the half were set four weeks apart earlier this year. First was 6th in the half at Yamaguchi in 61.34 then 13th in Lake Biwa in 2.12.01.

Next across the line should be Brian Shrader, 28yo and ranked 548. His PB over the half is 64.03 for 15th in March in NY. Four weeks later had a DNF at Boston marathon. Here is my profile from then:
Brian Shrader is a 27yo who could be next with his debut last year on that ineligible course at Sacramento, running 6th in 2.13.30. He is ranked 93 as a steeplechaser and 573 at the marathon.

The few extra women on the aforementioned new elite list has given me a chance to extend this thread to maybe 25 or 26 of each gender now i am ahead of my original schedule. So if i was able to, i would rename the thread, "44 days until the Chicago marathon: here are 50 [or 52] profiles, more than one per day".

But even stretching the men out to 25 or 26 still excludes Stinson and Droddy. Just.
