I have the NOP 5" shorts and half tights, great gear and also just a fan of some of those athletes/former athletes. 4:15 miler as a senior in HS, so not quite a hobby jogger but not an elite either. the stuff looks cool so.....

I finished high enough at regionals that the letsrun creeps would be able to find me if I posted more exact numbers.
Soooo... not a good enough individual or team to qualify for nationals. Hobby racer, case closed.
Fake news. I’m just a freshman, and I wasn’t that far off from qualifying this season, so I’ll be def trying to make nats in the future! Thanks for all the support. ?

True facts, actually. Those are hobby racer variety excuses. Plenty of women peak their freshman year, but keep trying! Maybe hating on NOP and other hobby racers slower than you will level you up? You brought it up as if it's relevant at all, Bambi. If you were good enough in D1 that any of us would know of you, you wouldn't be posting here at all. Not even during school break.
Maybe the just support distance running in the USA?
If more teams sold gear to the public (maybe they do, but I've never seen how to buy a Bowerman Track Club shirt), maybe it would increase the popularity of the sport. I like the NOP and the Oregon Track Club logos.

I saw this random guy slowly jogging today, and he was wearing an NOP t-shirt! I don’t get it, do hobbyjoggers think that it makes them look like a serious runner? Or do they just think the skull logo looks cool? Discus.
Well, big shot stud, how come you didn't roll up to said random guy and pepper him with these questions? He was the one you saw wearing the stuff. Is it because he'd sense the arrogance and derision in your questions and rightly answer you with flipping the bird?

Do members of your family wear shirts supporting your school?
Your screen name made me laugh, thanks.
why do random people wear new york yankees gear or roger federer gear?
beacuse they cvcks
Why not? I see this as a good thing. Promote the sport. More people run than play ice hockey, for example. It would be cool if random weekend 5k runners pulled for teams as random people pull for the Columbus Blue Jackets or Nashville whatever they are.

Because I want to push back against all those self haters who criticize NOP, which is really an american champion that should be celebrated.
Why do people throw a football wearing a football jersey?
C'mon if we want our sport ever to attract more fans maybe we should brand better. Nike keeps a lot of singlets and shoes under locks. If you're a fan of the team why wouldn't you grab some gear of that team? I think groups like NAZ and Bowerman do a better job of branding and of getting you excited about their athletes than a lot of other groups. I have and would rep their gear.
some of the products are sold in regular nike stores, so they probably just bought it thinking it was a regular athletic shirt with a cool logo
As a hobby jogger, I’d rather support NOP or NAZ Elite or Bowerman Track Club than the NFL, NBA, or some other billionaire sport team. In his hay day, I definitely would have sported a Jason Hartmann Running brand, I’d he had a singlet or T-shirt or jacket. I don’t think we support American runners enough and pay too much attention to the same old American sports. Let’s Run posters could be a little more supportive if American runners but the trolls always prevail here!

I run D1, I’m not a “hobby racer”. ?
Actually, you are. How many NCAA events have Haile G, Kenny B, any of the Dibaba sisters, I'll even include LeBron James, participated in? Question: Name a former or current NCAA D1 runner who holds a World Record in an event 800 or longer. You also competed for your High School team. Enough said.
The top end of D1 is fast, but it drops off pretty quickly. I didn’t run D1 myself, but I’ve won decent prize purses in races, beating “former D1 runners” in the process. Many runners seem to use “I ran/ run D1” as a “seal of authenticity”, but most are not that good.
NOP gear is to running as TAPOUT was to fighting
While there are some things I don't like about their approach to the sport, they do represent a strong track club that helps Americans to compete against the great runners from non-American countries. Sort of like the Trump effect. Liberals hate him with a passion, but he has made America great again.
1. Logo is nice
2. Probably the most popular American track club
3. You can get Nike gear for cheap on the NOP site
why do people wear sports jerseys of any team?
its no difference. it looks nice to some people, its good to run in

I've wanted a NOP singlet for ages, just for a joke, but they're like $500 on ebay. The Bowerman singlets are non existent as well.
