My first thought was that she was going to run 17:00. She did well.
Last race, she ran 17:51, now 16:44. The improvement curve is swift and will continue for almost a year to 14:40s again if she is training seriously as before.

Certainly Jorgensen's time is impressive, but remember that women have vastly different birth experiences and recovery times - there are a ton of factors that go into how they recover, pro athletes or not. We don't know what complicating factors either woman had. Just the difference of a 2nd degree vs 4th degree tear could mean weeks difference in recovery.
I get the sense that Rowbury is very much taking a slow and gradual return while as Gwen had “something to prove.” Rowbury wasn’t trying to come up with some miraculous time. She’ll be back in the saddle by spring, Mark my word
the big news is the dominance by tinmanelite. Watch out for Jordan Gusman from Australia to be a great training partner for Drew Hunter. These two with others will be running extremely fast in the future. What goes around comes around....7 degrees of separation LOL
Rowbury ran an XC race in northern California over the weekend, finishing 6th against top local competitors. It looked to me like she cruised through the finish.
