That's because it was all screwed up! All of Small's splits were Staines splits. Small ran 2.30 and still is not in the results!

Total guess. The chip malfuctioned. They deleted his finishing time when trying to convert times to Staines. Hell I don't know. I'm lucky I can figure out how to post. They should sort it out though. No matter how fast or slow, he was the first American. Bit embarrassing for the organizers he is not in the results. BTW 2.30.02 was the time I was told he ran.

O.K., here's my guess: Gary Staines was wearing Joshua Small's chip. Joshua Small was wearing Tatiana Pozdniakova's chip. Tatiana Pozdniakova was sitting at home eating pop tarts and watching television.
What was truly amazing is how she ran the 2:29 with spilts of 1:16 and 1:13 indicating she could go faster!

Small ran 2:30:02 and was not listed in the initial results. Nobody in the results was listed at 2:30:02. Small is in the blue Farm Team uniform.
Who told you 2:22? Staines or Small?
