Bob Dylan stinks. Right?

Juast about every artist that wants to be taken seriously will play Dylan songs.

i been wondering about this for a long time, and this seems like the right place to bring it up, with all the Bob love and all.

In the song "Lily, Rosemary and the Jack of Hearts", (an undisputed classic and unparalleled ballad by all accounts), who is it that takes out Big Jim? My reading of it is that it was Lilly, who impersonates his wife Rosemary. Which is all okay becuase an earlier reference in the song says that Rosemary had contemplated suicide, and by framing Rosemary, Lilly brings about the demise of someone who wanted to die anyway. Not super sure on this, though, it could have been Rosemary. Fact is, the openendedness of the song makes it even better.

No, Dylan is a fantastic lyricist - (lousy guitarist and poor vocalist). He is a modern-day poetic force like none other since the likes of W.B. Yates.

This thread is proof that many on LRC are ill-educated when it comes to numerous topics such as music, politics, religion, and especially running.

The word great is used much too indiscriminately and incorrectly. Bob Dylan is one of the most important artists of the modern era. Those that mock him because of his singing voice and express an opinion on his talent are the same ones that make fun of the Bible without reading it or knowing any of its history or context.

Your naive prounocements say more about your own self than the ones you wish to judge.

I always assumed it was the jilted woman, which would be Rosemary. I have listened to this album/cd more than anyone would think possible.

could it have been Lilly dressed up as the Jack of Hearts? I don't know. I'm going to have to listen to it another dozen or so times again.

I don't think he "stinks" but I don't go out of my way to listen to him, a lot of his cover songs I actually don't like his version as much.. I gotta be in the right mood for his music too, kinda like Neil Young except I like neil young more.

There is one song done by bob dylan I liked that I never heard before, I think it's called "copper kettle", it's a song about moonshining, I just really like that song.
