This is the great thing about our sport, athletes crop up out of nowhere and do amazing things. It keeps us interested, and excited about running.

Former coach has been doing time for his little lies...

Apparently they don't have quality in quantity though. Everyone has thousands of 1:01 guys.
Show me the lists.
maybe not a coincidence that a few runners of European origin (Hawkins, Robertsons, Moen, Rupp a winner of Chicago, Jager, Centro, and numerous other medals) have done this after some better results on the track and the Robertson successes, because it might be a confidence issue as well as an issue of training where self-belief leads to faster work and harder work, which builds the ability to do it. It was not a basic issue of genetic differences in running ability.
doping/blood doping of course also a possibility, hope not/

You probably know very well which groups are most likely doping, no?

Yes, every single professional athlete.

I really don't thnk Moen is doping, but one cannot rule that possibility out. There is always uncertainty when someone runs this fast. But considering his history, I believe he did it clean.
Canova told him to follow the leaders and dont care about splits.... woila.
I have seen his career since he was 15 for sure he is talented and have been working extremly hard.
And 59.47 ohhhh magic under one hour.... it is 1.25 behind world rec... means not as strong as sub 27 or around 2:06. Other caucasians have done it!
What suprise is how far he has come with less speed. He only have a 3:48/1500m on his name and dont have much of kick either (compared to Ethiophians)
I have tried to collect some number to find out what is talent! That means how did the succesfull gyus run in the begining of their career. Here are some numbers for Sondre
5k/5000m
11: 18.15 road
12: 16.57 road
15: 14.59
16: 14.41
17: 14.02
18: 14.09
19: 13:44
20: 13.30
26:13.20
Had some serious injury early 20's and started some longer runs doing 1:02 halves and 10000 in 28s
About his x coach Evensen. Yes he operated in some shady zone and was the man behind irion poisning of wigene and bakken. But still I belive he never distributed illegal drugs for performance, but did everything inside the rules to optimize performance. (Kind of Norways Salazar)But the mad professor took it to far and faked his doctor lisence so now he is officially banned as a coach. I think some good runners is still being coach by him,,,under the table... he introduce alot of AT runs like 4-5 sessions a week.
Now with Canova I dont have idea what Sondre do, but might get more specific training and can ice his cake. Still only 26. List of of Norwegian runners doing well is getting longer again:)
Wigene and Bakken were as far as I understand never held responsible for the iron poisoning, only asked to sack the coach. Dubious by the Norwegian Athletics association to say the least.

Ryan Hall is ethnically European; his 59:43 would thus be the best in that group.

Have you seen his kids? I'm pretty sure that Hall has African DNA.

I'll admit. I laughed.
Major props to the Halls though.
I also think he is clean. My guess is he is a good responder to high altitude training and he has been for longer periods in Kenya
for some years now. And he is a good talent even if not one of the most talented. One year ago I thought his maximum at the marathon was 2.06-2.07 something, but now I see he can run between 2.04- 2.06. Great guy! Congrats to him.

The guys best result before 2017 was a 13:30 5K in 2011.
Rupp has essentially shown steady improvement since high school, peaking in his late 20s in the 10,000 and below.
Who is more suspicious?
They also have Bjerkeli Grovdal.
Norway talent has been directed to XC skiing but it is obvious that this vikings are suited for endurance events.

EPO works for all endurance events.

The unanswerable question. One is constantly linked with shenanigans, even at the highest levels. The other isn't even tested regularly OoC.
American men regularly now run sub 13 5k and sun 27 10k but marathons stuck at 2:07. What gives?
