Bryant is the most overrated player in the league. He pretty much brought down the Lakers dyansty by himself. Sure he scores a lot of points, but when you take 40 shots a game, you ought to score a lot. Shaq was the laker's only star, everyone else was just a contributer.

I'm going with Bird. If the last shot of the game was going to win it he was your guy. He would taunt his defenders, even telling them he was getting the ball and where he was going to shoot it from, and then make it. That is pretty clutch in my book. If you need someone to dominate the fourth quarter it would be Jordan. If you need someone to make a ridiculous amount of three pointers in the final two minutes of a game to tie it up, it would be Reggie Miller. I don't know who is best able to score from the paint. Probably Shaq as long as he is not fouled first. Kareem was pretty consistent with that hook shot though. Kevin Mchale was amazing at getting those long lanky arms up and around defenders. I still don't know how he used to do that. I think he was just great at using the fake in the paint.

I saw Lewis at the 88 Trials. Mike Powell, I believe, had just uncorked a big one. The sky opened up and it began to rain hard. Lewis declined the opportunity to wait until the rain stopped, instead popping a huge jump, then acknowledging the crowd with a gesture that said, "Am I great or what?" I understand that some people think Viren was blood doping because (1) it was a European "invention," and (2) he beat our beloved Pre. But why doesn't anyone question whether others were doping in that race? Was Gammoudi? Maybe Pre was, too. Hell, as long as it's pure speculation, maybe the clerk of the course was doping, too.

Since this is a running forum, I'll pick a runner, Emil Zatopek. As far as the single individual clutch performance, it was Billy Mills' famous race.

I just can't wrap my head around this logic.

You take an action within the rules of the sport, and somehow it's wrong because they change the rules later? Who cares if he ever admitted to it? Many runners won't even tell you how they train. Being secretive about how you prepare is not dishonest.
