Someone completely dropped the ball on his citizenship. Also, unless he joins NOP, I don't see him ever breaking 13:10. He won't be a competitive runner by the time 2024 rolls around.
This did not age well. It is 2024 and no American has run a marathon faster on a non-aided course than what he ran yesterday.

At this point in his life, Cheserek has lived longer in U.S. than anywhere else, I believe, certainly longer than the illegals Dems would waive into citizenship.

Cheserek’s wiki page says that he won the Kenyan junior championship in the steeple, 5000m and 10000m in 2009. Does that mean that he is 34 years old?

I think he's 30 years old right now. According to W.A. his birthdate was 02/02 /94.
I feel bad for this kid although strictly speaking he's not a kid anymore at 30 years of age.
Bests of 3:33/3:49/7:38/13:04/27:23/59:11 - should qualify him with ease in the category of "exceptional individuals in sport or other endeavors" for the Green Card. He should have applied for that exceptional Green Card years ago and I don't know what happened.
I hope he achieves his aim of first getting the Green Card and then getting US Citizenship somewhere down the road but it's a pity it has taken so long. If he had married a U.S. citizen it would have been a quicker process but I'm not going down that process either.

As a NJ guy and pretty familiar with Ches story, especially since I know someone who used to do long runs with him a bit. Something is pretty amiss in all of this,. folks have surmised things for years, but he is 30 years and 10 Months old. Was educated thru HS here, public University racking up titles for Phil's trophy case, an absurd 17. You would have thought he almost would have been fast tracked..LOL. he has not been here 15 years almost? Hmm.
I was around an international athlete who worked on citizenship and it can be a daunting process. You need someone working on your behalf almost constantly. This smacks of someone screwing up and not doing what they needed to do. Especially with the Biden administration being much more lenient than the other guy it should have been done. I do feel bad for Chez but know there is only so much he can do.
Who knows. With all the Kenyan age cheats on the Junior level only a legit birth certificate can provide proof. King 99 might provide some insight. Nike had multiple reasons not to sign him.

clearly he did not triple at the Kenyan championship when he was 15 years old. His wiki page must be wrong

That’s not how citizenship works. He won’t ever make a world or Olympic team while representing Kenya. only chance he has to become an American is joining the military-full stop.

THe BIden admin was not more lenient than anybody else when it came to people doing things the right way. all their focus was on keeping the turnstiles loose for illegals.
He probably screwed up something on his citizenship or green card application which reset the clock. If you watch old interviews of him he hated being asked when he was going to become a citizen and changed the subject.

Since you posted what you did and it wasn't deleted by a mod...10-15 million.

Senator Alphonse "Al" D'Amato fast tracked Khalid Khannouchia thru so he could compete in 2004 Olympic Trials.
Where is Phil Knight or Vin Lanana or Senator Mark Hatfield in the fast-tracking process?
