Lindgren set high school records at the mile, 2 mile, 5k and 10k. His indoor 2 mile record, set on an 11 lap to the mile board track in 1964, stood for 49 years and was broken by less than a second in 2013. 4:01 mile / 13:44 5k (both set on cinders), and the aforementioned indoor 8:40 2 mile.

Gerry Lindgren made the Olympic 10K team as a high schooler. Cheserek could barely beat his 2-mile record on a modern indoor track.

No American high schooler can touch 8:26. Thats not far off from being in contention to qualify for the worlds/Olympic team in the US. At 16 that's incredible.

To comments avout it being so unvelievable to run so fast two days after 13.49 at the 5k: He said himself he didnt gave his all in that race, because of the upcoming steeple run. And his last lap of 55 sec proves it..

And to the predictible "Doper!!"-comments here:

-Jakob has been a super talent since 10 years old.

-Have age records in the world since 11 (600 m was the first one),

-has been training seriously w his two older brother since then, including training camps in altitude.

-And he has been tested for doping since 14. Bottom line; super talent plus superb training and we can all relax folks, this kid is clean as snow!

Jakob just happen to be a super talented very young European runner that started training very early.

Yes!!! No doubt whatsoever the three brothers are super clean and super talented! No drugs use ever!!

He is a great talent and at 16 someone to watch for years to come.
