Run has not run a marathon on US soil. The LA/Trial marathon was on asphalt and 'crete. Maybe Rupp will run a dirt/soil marathon in the future, but more than likely not.

Galen Rupp has run 26:44 for the 10000. No other runner in the field has sniffed that sort of time.
No other runner has run faster than 26:44 since 2011.
Rupp is an exceptional racer. I would not be surprised if he wins tomorrow.
As others have said, he will run exactly as fast as he needs to win.
Wind cooperating . If Rupp's foot is fine, Hall's record is gone.
The answer is ...who knows? Can he win Boston? Maybe. In terms of winning times at Boston, haven't we learned anything about the marathon? Especially marathons like Boston and NYC? anything can happen!

Not to mention the plethora of 2:10's and 2:09's. If you take a look at the data, since 2000 winning below 2:09 was the exception not the norm (only 6 times in 17 years).
If the conditions are Rupp ripe, he has a fair chance to win as any of the other elite runners. (IMHO)

Rupp closed the gap on 2nd place and increased the gap on 4th/5th the last 5k so this post is $hit.
