L-carnitine is laughable as a performance enhancing drug. Does absolutely nothing in pill form. Maybe the injections do something magical, but this accusation is weak. Armstrong never bothered to use carnitine because there's no evidence it does anything.

The article says "research supplement based on the chemical L-carnitine." So that kind of indicates that it is a chemically modified version of L-Carnitine that could have much more athletic enhancing effect that normal L-carnitine. Like always, we have to wait and hope for more details.
