When I officially broke 5 my PRs were:
400 - 49.50
800- 1:49.76
1500 - 3:52.4
8K - 25:31

You can probably break 5. I was at an 18 flat 5k with a 60 sec 400
Well, I broke 5 in my first race (4:48), with no other PR's.
But later that season, I ran 2:12 and around 57 if I remember right (this was 40 years ago). I also broke my arm in my second race, so did not train for those other races and ran both with the cast on (casts 40 years ago were a lot heavier and did not breath).
Cast off, I ran 4:47 with 2 week of training:)
You might have a shot, but I think I would have been faster at 1k than that (but I was sub 4:50).
200 25
300 38
400 54
500 1:14
800 2:04
1600 4:55
3200 10:3x
5k 17:53
5m 31:xx
800 was 2:12ish
1600- 4:54
3200- 11:20ish
5K- 17:39
I ran a 36:40 10k before I ran a 4:56 1600, which I guess is a 5:01 mile, so never mind.
400 - 63
800 - 2:15
5000 - 17:37
800m: 208

Broke 5 with this? I would have thought you would be close to breaking 4 with those times. I love the internet and the way people can bs and not get called out for it
400-51
800- 2:00
1600- 4:59
Those times were 8 months ago. I ran a 5k 3 months ago at 15:55.

If he broke 4, he would be breaking 5 as well, no?
The mile isn't run all that often. Maybe the guy never ran a mile race until he was running 1:50 in the 800m.

My freshman year of college was the first time I ever went sub 5, and my PRs at the time were...
400: 67 or 68
800: 2:23
3200: 10:27
5K road: 17:30
10K: 35:20
Half: 1:21
Marathon: 3:07
400 - 63
800 - 2:18
3200 - 11:03
I ran 2:06 indoors for 800, then my first 1600 outdoors was 4:46.
Well that 8k convers to 5:06 per 1600m so I sure hope he could break 5. To be unable to do so would indicate an unbelievable lack of speed
Sophomore year
400 - 59
800 - 2:14
1600 - 4:59.95
3200 - 11:08
3 miles xc - 17:53
4 days after running the 4:59.95, I ran the 800 in 2:08.6 and the 1600 in 4:50.9.
Never broke 5 officially, but went through the first mile of road 10k just under 5. Finished the 10K in the low 32s. Another time went sub 5 for a first mile in a road 4 miler. Finished high 20:50 or so.
