it was obviously Bekele would've won if he had counted the laps correctly. Big difference.
That, my friend, is a hypothetical, though probably true, still hypothetical. Had he counted the laps correctly he would not have taken off as early therefore not dropped Cragg. Cragg knew how many laps there were, and when Bekele went, Cragg probably thought that he really was not human. Though no Bekele, Cragg has beaten an Olympic Gold medalist before. Give the man some credit you jackass.
so when craggs brother died did any body whom beat cragg spot there celebrations i think not well done cragg lets hope you do it more often.
yeas respect him but always remember as a athlete if you think another guy is unbeatable he is
cragg respects the athletes but does not fear them and he knows he can beat them

The key difference is that Bekele MISCOUNTED THE LAPS. The victory by Cragg was clearly a joke. No different than if Bekele had been DQed for not tucking in his singlet.
I once won a race when the guy leading hit a hurdle, I said to him after he should have won. Then I realised that it was BS, the aim of the race is not to hit a hurdle and fall over, it was his fault he hit the hurdle. It was the same as telling someone they should have won because the paced it wrong. If you don't count the laps right it is your fault (officals sending people the wrong way is different), like bad pacing or hitting a hurdle.
I think Cragg was probably shocked to win, even with all that happen to Bekele he is still a class apart from Cragg, so Cragg was still happy I expect, maybe the only time he will beat him.
I did like Cragg waving to the Irish fans on the last lap of the Euro indoors, as Bekele waved to his fans in the last 1k of the WXC.
I once beat my brother in a race b/c he hadn't run as many miles or worked as hard as me. I will call him now to apologize and give him the win.
BEKELE NEVER MISCOUNTED THE LAPS IN BIRMINGHAM - AND WHO BEAT HIM THERE??
MARKOS GENETI
WHO DID ALISTAIR BEAT AGAIN IN FAYETVILLE???
MARKOS GENETI
NO MORE QUESTIONS YOURE HONOUR!!
hey just stop replying to this idiot.
Bekele is a legend as he proved last week.respect to both guys and good luck to them both.
BekeleAdvocate,
Are you and Sir Lance-alot a couple?

Oh that's right, he was injured most likely due to his overracing indoors, while Bekele was winning two World XC golds off three weeks of training, two more than Cragg will ever win.
maybe you should read a few cragg interviews to see the admiration that the athlete holds bekele in. twit
Cragg got hurt because he was going nuts at the NCAA party. Dude is nuts. He definatly didnt get injured running.

this was a funny thread. thanks bekeleadvocate, you make michael bautista look like a well adjusted heterosexual.
Great line.
I think we are maybe missing the point that Cragg not only beat Bekele in that race, he also ran the fastest indoor 3k in the world this year. It is not like he ran a slow and crapy race and beat Bekele, he ran an awesome race. It is very possible that had Bekele not miscounted the laps, he still would have lost. Cragg ran a great race that day. Even Geb didn't win every race he entered, and he never had to race with his fiancé recently passing away. We all have crapy things that happent to us, but we continue to get up and go to work every day. We can't make excuses for our bad work performances, just like Belele can't. We can all understand that maybe he didn't run his best because of this, but the point is he Bekele didn't get it done, and Cragg did. I don’t recall him losing to anyone else this year in the 3k either, and no one ran faster than him. So in my estimation that makes him the fastest indoor 3k runner in the world this year. Bekele had another chance to run fast a few weeks later and got beet then too. He didn’t miscount the laps then. Bekele is a great track runner and apparently an even better cross country runner. It doesn’t surprise me that he can loose on the track and then win on the grass. They are too different types of running even though they are both still running. Geb was the greatest track runner but he never won world cross. I recall Bekele loosing in the 5k this past Olympics. He is very fast on the track, but he is not infallible, especially in events shorter than the 10k. He may be unbeatable in the 10k and 12k at this point, but in the 5k and 3k he is not dominant, world record or not.
Gentlemen, I would surmise you have all been sucked in to an internet brawl by bekeleadvocate - nice job, Bekadv - an excellent job of sucking them all in with the provocative staement just believable enough to make people think you actually feel that way. Again, nicely done.
BekeleAdvocate is obviously VERY excited that Bekele is now single.
Cragg has given more than most athlete in his career and now that he is professional he was meant to conceed a glorious occassion to a wanker like you because you praise Bekele as you have your own inferiority coplex. An athlete like KB doesn't need some little nothing like you to advertise for him Nike does it well enough. P.S. I couln not emagine Bill Gates conceeding a multi-million dollar deal to his opposition, would you?(PROFESSIONAL just to remind you!)
