Someone posted the link on the other thread. It has Andrews DQd and the Ugandan 6th placer in instead.

He was boxed coming off the final turn and stuck inside and ended up having no where to go so he hopped the rail and ran two steps on the inside.
No doubt he\\\'ll be DQd. WE\\\'l post a screenshot in a second.

I think he did fine. I mean during my entire 10 year coaching career, I never ever had a runner boxed in who couldn't get out. It just never happens. The Olympics are a bit different as everyone is of the same level.
Just a bit lucky.
I always say, "It always open up". Now I mainly say that for the 800 but did you see Willis in the heat before. He was moving up and back all over the place.
rule 163.4b
I don't think he ever really tried to get outside though. At least not on the last straight. He was always looking for an inside line, no wonder it never opened up.
Grabbing at straws here. Does anyone have footage of contact between Robby and Ethopian kid? If possible please email me.
Trying to get him another shot. Sincere thanks.

And Gregson did just fine

No contact as far as I can see. Disappointing, but what can you do?
Robby is dumb. Curb bro.
I see Robby hit by an elbow from the Kenyan. That falls into (a) below. He didn't remove himself until there was contact. I'd counter protest of course.
An athlete shall not be disqualified if he is:
(a) is pushed or forced by another person to step or run outside his lane or on or inside the kerb or line marking the applicable border, or
(b) steps or runs outside his lane in the straight, any straight part of
the diversion from the track for the steeplechase water jump or
outside the outer line of his lane on the bend,
with no material advantage thereby being gained and no other athlete being jostled or obstructed so as to impede his progress.
IAAF COMPETITION RULES 2016-2017
Note: Material advantage includes improving his position by any means, including removing himself from a “boxed†position in the race by having stepped or run inside the inside edge of the track.
Ethiopian but yes something happened. Andrews was getting past him and suddenly he was in the infield.

He didn't just run on the inside. He was bumped and stepped inside to maintain his balance. It actually may have been Andrews that caused the contact as he was passing (I don't know) but there was contact.

Can you kindly give me a time on the clock to rewind to? I am watching it on a crummy stream.
That's what Robby gets for running every race like its a 7th grade dual meet. I.e hanging in the back and relying on his kick. Maybe if he stuck to the front of the pack he'd be in the final.
It may not have been the stretch run where he got disqualified. Something happened at the back of the pack early in the race. Take a look at the current results.
The Spaniard is now through with a small q after finishing DFL.
bizarre - they DQ Andrews and let two different guys through?
Maybe the DQ was for tripping Bustos (Spain), which moves up Musagala (Uganda) into 5th for a Q. Then they advance Bustos for tripping.
Is that the actual reasoning though?
Or it could be that advancing Bustos was totally unrelated to DQing Andrews. 164.3b is stepping inside the curb on the straight.
Above are pictures of the incident, mostly time stamped. Robby was past the runner and impacted in the last frame. His next step was out of bounds. It is clear to me that there was an opening that Robby took, an elbow was exchanged when they were shoulder to shoulder, and the Ethiopian elbowed Robby out of bounds.
Robby did not gain material advantage when he went out of bounds because he had already passed the Ethiopian.
If we have another angle I'll bet we can see both the elbow and the leg contact. Vig you should be contacting NBC.
