This Lochte douche deserves everything he gets from this. He actually deserves worse.

i have no problem with anything Lochte has done up to this point. Shit happens, nobody's perfect. If i won a bunch of Olympic medals and was completely done with competition and still living in the Olympic village i'm sure i would be a danger to myself from that point forward. So I'm not going to point fingers for what happened in Rio, and i'm willing to look past and fully forgive his initial story about what happened. I had a dude point a gun at me once and i'm sure i have embellished my telling of the story. i'm also willing to forgive him laying low for a few days and hoping the whole thing would go away too.
However i am about to be really disappointed in the guy from this point forward. Now he doesn't really have to care what I think. He's got his life and I've got mine. However if he wants my support he needs to go on camera and apologize. He told his story on camera, he needs to get on tv and let matt lauer ask him questions the way he went on camera before.
If he REALLY wants my support he would go to Rio NOW and apologize to the people of Brazil and walk with the American team in the closing ceremony. If he went to Rio and said, "you know what, i was an idiot, i didn't mean to offend all of Brazil, I was pissed at this one guy for pointing a gun at me, in retrospect I don't even blame him because i acted like an ass, but i'm here to take my medicine and apologize before the world and the people of Brazil, and I'm here to show my respect for Brazil and my gratitude for the greatest Olympics of all time which Brazil hosted despite great hardship, and i'm here to demonstrate my gratitude by walking humbly among the other olympic athletes in the closing ceremony" -- not only would he get my support, he would turn this thing entirely around and probably be praised by 75% of americans and 95% of Brazilians and he would be remembered for all time as a hero. Because everybody knows that everybody makes mistakes.

they are saying something about hiding the partying from someone's girlfriend.
The whole thing was settled and over with when they left the gas station after paying a few bucks for damage. But no. Lochte had to embellish his story to make it sound like they had a totally crazy night. And he stupidly told his Mom, who couldn't wait to go to the media and publicize that her poor little son had been robbed by fake police at gunpoint. With the story in the media, he didn't want to make his Mom look bad so he stick with the story. As they always say, the coverup is often far worse than the crime. Then, when the story got in the media, the police came knocking to see what happened. As was reported to day, both the US Consulate and the Brazil government were trying to cover up the truth for days - as Brazil authorities knew almost immediately the story was not true. But, the story wouldn't die and here we are. And, given the timeline, Lochte knew he was in trouble and fled the country when the US and Brazil were trying to keep the truth under wraps.

Brazil is not a Hispanic country. Being 3rd world has nothing to do with being corrupt. Being 3rd world has to do with your allegiances during the Cold War.
