Which runners have won an Olympic medal 12 years after the first medal?

Page one isn't deleted. It's a problem with your browser. Nothing on page one refutes what I said. Carl Lewis is a runner. Running is the predominate factor in take-off velocity for the jumps.

As for the first question, it is clearly implied that "runners" means running events, not other sports. Just because other sports involve some running doesn't make them a running event.

Willie Davenport won a silver medal in the 110 meter hurdles in 1964 and a bronze in 1976. He competed in the same event in 1968 (gold) and 1972 (silver). So he meets both criteria.

No, "runners" is not clearyl enough of discription what you have meant. Don't you really see the difference between Al Oerter and Carl Lewis? That Oerter is not into consideration here is obvious. But Lewis' case is totally different. He was 3 times World Champion and 2 times Olympic Champion over 100m. He was Olympic Champion over 200m. For a full decade he widely was considered as the best sprinter in the world. So, was he a "runner"? For sure he also was a long jumper. And in this event he has won a (gold) medal 12 years after his first Olympic medal (which was Gold in the 100m).

What are you talking about Davenport? No medals in 64 and 72.

See If you can use that argument to convince the iaaf to reclassify the LJ as a running event, Until then, it remains a field event. A medal in the LJ is earned by a field-event competitor, because the LJ is a field event.
