I simply don't see how a league like this can work in a system that is dominated by one big meet per year: the Olympics or World Championships. As long as that's the only thing people care about, any track league will be mediocre. Does anyone even notice who the season-long "Diamond Race" winners are? I don't. I don't even know how the points work.

It's the first year for the summer series. The first time you do anything, there are bound to be hiccups. Al of our questions will be answered soon. However this turns out in 2016, it is a step in the right direction. Vin Lananna is a visionary who has done miraculous things for USA track (we got the World Championships, for one, and that qualifies as a miracle).
I'm sure he will be quite successful at holding a fantasy track & field draft in the basement with his buddies, but I'm not sure I care.
How long is this going to take? At the present rate, about 3 hours. Ridiculous, esp. since we have no idea who is doing the picking, how points are scored, tec.

No, it doesn't help. 11 minutes it took to pick 4, and they said they'd be picking 64 today. So, 3 hours. Bor-ing.

The best part is not knowing who they are choosing from.
Why are the teams named after cities? Will there be "home meets" in these locations?
32 minutes per round times 8 rounds = 4+ hours. This ain't the NFL, folks. Even hardcore fans cannot be bothered with this silly procedure.
