BBC Panorama Alleges Seb Coe was indifferent to corruption and Worked with Papa Diack to get IAAF Presidency

Nobody should believe the rumour that Coe laundered corruption money by starting a Swiss sports clothing company called Skins, which then sponsored an ultra-runner named Robert Young, who then donated that money to a charity whose CEO is Coe's wife.

It's such a ridiculous claim that it's not even worth trying to chase down details.

The evidence shows what's been said all along, that drug/gender cheat Radcliffe has been on the inside from the start, and is the reason Yegorova was banned, because she was winning every race, not because of drugs. Yegorova had passed every drug test. The ban was politics, nothing else.

Coe was and is working for Nike. That he pushed out Diack to gain his position is nothing new from his history. The ban against the entire country of Russia is more of the same, not due to drugs, but to sensationalistic headlines and politics.

Based on the texts, it looks like an orderly transition. The king chose his successor.

Bubka running the federation would be the same as Coe. The federation really can't be any more corrupt.

They are doing more than they ever did but that does not say a lot. Sadly, I never realized how bad the situation was. Maybe in 10 years we will have some clarity on how testing works worldwide and closer to a level playing field. Sometimes I think I hear more about UFC testing than I do about track, soccer, football, and basketball.

Great reminder. I can't believe how quickly this story got swept under the rug. It barely got out to the non-track and field public. The Swedes ran a story, but they must have been shut up. "Play ball or be the ball." The Russians get hammered for supposed bribing, but when something similar in nature comes out about the US....crickets.

Gavin Belson of Hooli also has a spiritual leader. Doesn't look like that ended up too well for him.

I didn't consider it "proven", but offer it as an undisputed statement of historical fact. Coe was not named by the WADA IC as belonging to the inner circle (their term) involved in the IAAF extortion of Russian and other athletes. The BBC Panorama documentary hasn't changed that at any level.What did we really learn from the BBC Panorama documentary?- That Coe forwarded an email, with attachments he may or may not have read, four months AFTER the IAAF committee began investigating allegations of bribery and corruption involving Shobukhova, and four months before the ARD documentary.- That Coe had help winning votes in an election campaign, interacting with IAAF members and consultants who also participated in or are under investigation for bribery and corruption.Did I miss something? Is there something stronger than yet another allegation of guilt by association?Sensationalist journalism from UK media is not knowledge. Your article connects Diack to corruption, and Coe to Diack. Bribery and corruption and extortion is not a transitive property.

So far finding very little:

- Coe encouraged one of the interested bidders to resubmit a strong bid

- Coe was assured, after reaching out to Diack, that the decision would not take place in April 2015

- IAAF members were unaware of the change until 24 hours before

- this change of agenda is unusual, but not unprecedented

- Gothenberg is rightly upset at not having a chance to bid
