Paying sprinters the same as the others is an insult to the sport of T&F.

At least you're right about Pappas and Rowbury.

Don't forget also that Ato Boldon is from San Jose.

But distance runners, throwers, vaulters and jumpers are f,u,c,k,i,n.g boring as hell.

I think it's good for the 'Blevel pros, but don't know that it will attract enough of an audience considering we can't even get people to watch the 'A' level pros other than the olympics.

Mt Hood CC is a much more convenient location for the Portland meet.

There is no Portland meet. Only a Eugene meet.

It's a distance runners league which will be a huge bonus for fields but a non-starter for sprinters and hurdlers. Nike will have to pickup the net losses and provide bonus money.

I'm not sure how much NIKE is underwriting this thing? I think Tracktown might be doing most of this in their own. This is based in rumors I've heard around Portland.

The financial was to have a team owner in each of the cities. I don't think Vin was able to find fully funded owners for this year.

does not seem interesting at all. team competition track meets are boring. when and if i ever go to meets its to watch a few specific events. the entire team concept doesnt work for me on Track and Field. XC yes it works for me not track.

Where in the Frisco Bay Area will these meets be held? Will they be in San Fran proper or elsewhere in Northern Cali?

Nice to read of this. I had read a different article which didn't mention these monetary details.

Ah, okay so it's option number 3 then. You're saying the meet will be held in Northern Cali, I assume on the campus of Cal State Eugene? Will there be a masters division in which Grandpa Ches and Maton can compete?
