Who Was the Biggest Disappointment at NCAAs?

The race was similar to Wisconsin. Seidel, Scott and Allie O. broke away from the field. The difference was that Allie. O didn't have the extra kick at the end like she did at Wisconsin. I think she overdid it at the West regional winning by 22 sec's...she could have left more in the tank.

Looks like a lot of guys blew up under the hot pace. It looks to me like around 25-30 of the top 40 at 2k and 4k didn't finish as all americans. Almost like they flipped spots with the guys who were 40-80. Guys like Dressel, Saarel, Bruce, Reichow and Eller made up HUGE ground in the last 2k. They must have been passing guys with every step.

Colorado ran a great race and executed the way that would give them the best chance to win. But Moussa blowing up really hurt them. They split into 3 groups at the beginning. Murphy and Pearson were in the front pack, Moussa was alone around 40, while Saarel, Dressel and Winter started way behind. Murphy moved up even more to sweep up the guys who couldn't handle Tiernan's pace and proved this season's results weren't flukes. Pearson managed to keep it together albeit losing 10 spots over last 2k while Saarel, Dressel and Winter caught up to him. But Moussa moved up too early in the first half and then leaked positions all the way to the end. In general in looks like 3 of their scorers moved up too early (unlike in the last 2k last year) and then lost spots from 8k. Dressel and Saarel didn't have enough time to make it all up.

You can't really blame Saarel for this loss because if he had gone with the leaders to try and replicate last year's place, he likely would have blown up and finished in the 100's.

I think Syracuse's top 3 was exceptional and their #4 had the greatest day of his life and their #5 held on.
