Exactly. Seeing people who run really fast is interesting. Indirectly seeing the results of pharmacology competition is not. I don't want chemistry competition, I want athletic competition. And this is before you even get into the fairness/ethics of excluding those (kids OR adults) who don't want to drug their bodies.

It's always a longer season for American track athletes and it makes it harder to peak at late summer championships. Peaking for indoor and outdoor championships and then tapering and hoping to peak higher for a late summer world championship is a bit challenging. Bolt can "rest" for most of the track season and then work hard for the one meet that really counts on his agenda.

I don't know who's clean and who isn't, but any US athletes (and athletes from many other nations where out-of-competition drug testing is more efficient) who choose to dope usually must either use undetectable substances or carefully microdose with low and short acting doses of detectable but highly effective PEDs, to avoid a positive test.
