I've chatted on Twitter with Victor Conte before about boxing,he gets in crazy twitter wars with Angel Heredia a suspected ped dealer. I have to say that Victor Conte knows the doping game like no one else. I think that it is relevant to have a supremely knowledgeable insider opinion so I think Wejo is right to frame it as hot topic. If anyone is curious about doping or suspected cheaters

I would highly recommend reaching out to him on twitter. He is a tremendous resource

That's not a great analogy. Armstrong is many bad things but he's not a pathological liar, and he's never been about "grabbing headlines". He lies when it serves his interest. Conte, on the other hand, does seem like he is always trying to stay relevant. Whenever doping comes up in the news he volunteers his "insider" opinions, which usually come off as outsider nonsense.

I disagree with Conte. Worst case scenario, Salazar "retires" with no ban. That would be extreme though. I fully expect Salazar to be in Rio.

Victor also comments in this article on the use of asthma inhalers in swimming, boxing, and the NOP. Many LR posters are of the opinion that asthma inhalers are not PEDs due to the lack of scientific studies. Here's an expert saying otherwise.

LRC is the biggest website out there that covers pro running, but you give us too much credit. A post we put on the message boards and don't even highlight on the homepage is not going to be able to distract from a Paula Radcliffe story.

Conte reiterates one key point and that is how serious Alberteo microdosing his sons is and he could be banned for it. Alberto claims it was for innocent reasons. I think a reading of anti-doping rules is Alberto could even be banned if you accepted his reasoning. Support staff are not supposed to be giving prohibited substances to others and he definitely did that.

Regardless there still are a lot of unanswered questions like whose prescription was used for the experiment. If it is Alberto's it pokes holes in the claim that his androgel was only used for his own personal use. Alberto made a point of getting letters from his doctors showing his androgel prescription amount was consistent with only his only personal use. I think it would be very easy to give some of the prescription to others and the experiment Alberto sets up shows that if his prescription was used.

What anti-doping rules are you reading? I'd love to see the full quote from the rules relevant to the years Alberto was doing the testing.

Conte doesn't know shit about outsmarting tests. Patrick Arnold was the brains of the operation when it came to the actual science involved. Conte is an astute businessman who saw a lucrative market.

Why would any coach need to conduct these tests?

The Conte, Ferrari, Fuentes types we're told stay one step ahead of the testers. Surely, a big part of what they do is conduct these kinds of tests so they can tell team, athletes and coaches exactly how much an athlete can take without testing positive. They'd have stats galore on this from experiments they've conducted exactly so elite athletes and coaches with a reputation to protect do not need to do this.
