As there are so few 10k track races, don't you think it could be a good selling point for the ATL. I mean, find one sponser who can throw up a good amount of money for one big meet for them. It can't be too hard. If there was one bigger meet besides just college meets and the two dimond league meets in the US, it should get pretty good coverage. Letsrun would cover it, a flotrack would, maybe give few rights to TV.
Only if I had the capital. Lol. Only then will the US will start seeing sub 27's and sub 13 more than once a season.
If he rests up and if there is wind to his back, he can run 26.99, maybe 26.98 for 200 meters. So, yes, a sub 27 is doable.

What are you talking about? In 2013, Derrick raced world xc and then a full track season. All told, tilastapaja lists 13 races for him 2013. For comparison's sake, Rupp had 15 this year.

Solinsky never "went after it," he showed up to a record attempt set up by Galen Rupp to do what he said would be a "glorified tempo" and realized he was in great shape. The Schumacher cult would never take the initiative to set something like that up themselves.
They don't race when it DOES make sense. They'll run USA's, make the team, and not race again until the championship in which they'll usually bomb. One time they showed up to the Armory, on one days' notice, to get their 5000m qualifiers out of the way. I don't know how it's possible for anyone to be a fan of them, they just disappear for months on end.
As compared to Alberto who wasn't sure two days before the race where Galen's 10,000 record attempt was going to be? How are fans supposed to get into that? Or what about the year Rupp warmed up at Pre to psyche out the competition and then didn't race?
Neither group is exactly really fan friendly.

Bingo. Anyone remember when Salazar was coaching the likes of Chad Johnson, Mike Donnelly, Dan Browne. He didn't exactly set the world on fire.
