Good point. I thought (based on previous threads) it was in Charleston SC. After some more digging it was in fact in WV.

+1. I depress myself when I look at the HS state championship times from VT. I'm from MA and could've been contending for state champ with my 9:4x 2-mile time... I couldn't even make the All State meet in MA. NH has dartmouth, but VT has absolutely nothing. Anyone that wants to run in New England has a bunch of fast tracks in Boston. VT will be the last
A large part of the challenge for Vermont is that the outdoor track season begins, at earliest, in the first week of May, meaning a very short season before classes end. And VT has only three indoor tracks, one of them at 160 meters. So building up to the outdoor season is very, very tough. The last time I ran in a Vermont track meet -- I think in South Burlington-- the races were hand-timed. Discouraging. But, on the other hand, being timed by an old gaffer with a sweep-hand stopwatch may be the easiest way to clock a 3:59.9 in the Green Mountain State!
I’d think by now someone will just fly to these states to run a sub 4. Or why hasn’t some YouTube runner or training group done a “Sub 4 mile in every state” video series? Other sports have fun/silly things like that. Or why not Letsrun host a “sub 4 mile in every state” event. There’s gotta be sub 4 milers in every state that could go out and do it on the same weekend.
I expect to see my name in the credits of the YouTube runner or group that does this for giving you the idea. Thanks.

Can you please show the meet results for this claim. ..?
They were time trials video are on youtube
The Bolder Boulder 10K should get the PRO field to do a mile race at CU's Potts Field on the weekend before the 10K. They could give a good pay day for the winner if they break 4 minutes. I would think that at least one person would break 4 minutes. It would be great race, and I bet that it would be standing room only to watch it.

Unofficial TT count ..?!
Adam Fogg ran sub 4 officially at the South Dakota state last chance meet last year.
I guess you didn't notice that a post already has Maine with one.
Okay, only 5 left then
Hawaii
New Hampshire
Vermont
Wyoming
Nevada

Only 10 states remain without a sub 4 minute track mile run on its soil: NH, ME, VT, DE, WV, SD, CO, WY, NV, and HI.
Which state will be the last to see a sub 4?
I think the northeast will get wiped out in the next five years, as will NV. My money is on Wyoming to come in last, but Colorado and Hawaii could put up a good fight for that distinction.
(If I'm wrong about any of these, please correct me. I know someone went for DE this past weekend, but I couldn't find the results).
Could we please (and that includes the often mind-less NBC commentators) stop referring to the fastest time run on American "soil"? No one is running meets or setting records on dirt tracks anymore (although I once ran on a grass track in OK (no, not run track on grass - it was a grass track because the wind blew all the cinders away). When you "soil" yourself, it is not a pretty picture. Neither is running on "soil." Same thing with baseball managers who are constantly noting how much they like how a player "goes about his business." Really? You like how the player goes to the bathroom? Perplexing why these phrases are still in use.
Either Tinman or On will go crazy to sew this up.
klecker an hoare went sub 4 in a practice tt in boulder.
