At the end of one of his grueling track workouts, Meb ran a 20.1 in the 200 from a standing start in flats. After this he decided to bulk up and become a sprinter with the hopes of defeating Bolt in Rio and taking home gold medals in the 100 and 200.

Yes, you read that right. Meb on the hit ABC show Dancing with the Stars.
Never seen the show, but apparently it's popular. And given how dismally faint our sport registers in the consciousness of most Americans, if it were true it seems like the extra exposure can only be good for the sport.

I talked with Meb in June and his win at Boston was the ultimate. He is having a difficult time focusing on the daily grind that is necessary for success in the marathon.

I think the Dancing With The Stars makes the most sense unless we are simply talking about a NYC appearance but I would't call that "big news". Where else is he going to go?
That was an interesting debate I have with agents. New York is basically negotiating with itself.

Instead of hitting post, i looked it up. He's got one Chicago marathon finish to his name - 2:10:03 7th placer in 2003.
He will be starring in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice as Green Lantern (John Stewart version).
He's promoting a new marathon training technique called Keflezighiwalking.
He is coming our of the closet as a heterosexual.
We need more of Meb talking while wearing the gold wreath-thing on his head. So as long as that happens, we're good.

Since Froning is retiring, Meb will announce he is now training to win the Crossfit Games. Why not, the Letsrun groupies believe any mediocre distance runner could dominate any modern sporting event. Why wouldn't he just take the Skechers sponsorship to the next level and win the CF Games the next few years?
