I looked at the results and saw he ran the past 2 years too with a significant improvement each year. I know the course isn't the same and guys on here are talking about less competitive, but I still think it is cool to see a guy come back and improve and come back again to win.
Do you know if his goal was to win?

Yes, he always said his dream after seeing the documentary was to one day win this..... And today that dream became a reality for him! Harvey would have kept coming back until he won, but this year was his year, the guy put some serious work in!

not seeing that the 2014 route went inside these two designated Wilderness Areas. Please provide proof.
There are very few races that go through designated Wilderness areas. These are rare exceptions and the race courses were grandfathered in with restrictions as the Wilderness designation came after the use by the race
Well not inside as in running through the paths, the BW is a road, there is precedence in that part of this years race included a narrow dirt road up the Cerro Gordo (ghost town). Congrats to Harvey, who bears a slight resemblance to comedian, Tim Conway.
Interesting note of interest. On the night portion of this years BW race paranormal radio talk show host, Clyde Lewis dedicated an entire show to his recent sighting of a Bigfoot near Mount Adams in Oregon. How cool would it be for a BW crew's car to blaring that scary event while running the BW in the dead of night into a ghost town! Love it, love it!

Honestly, I don't know if you are joking or not being impressed by this.
My beef is many winners of these events always thrive on "pumping up" their accomplishments and are sometimes media hounds. Call the local news crew, we have a story here! Look at me! Look at me! I even kayak to work.
An explanation of the irregularity would have satisfied the few runners who noticed it. The response of the RD just stoked the fire of questions.

This. He cut the course in a van and lied about it, with photographic evidence proving his lies. The race director was made aware of someone calling him out on it and called that runner a "jackass spoilsport" instead of listening to his complaints.
