No you are wrong. Unless the athlete needs to lose excess weight, there is no reason to lose weight when someone "makes that transition to elite status". When you run more, you simply increase your caloric intake to ensure that you maintain your weight and don't start breaking down the nutrients meant for keeping your muscles/bones healthy.

I agree. Reminds me of Al Sals form back in the day. Efficient, almost a shuffle, conserves evergy.

I think this is an athlete who has so much room to develop, and what is most exciting is that she is already so fast. I hope she develops to her full potential at Cal.

I'm well aware of both sides of the coin... *duuh*I was criticizing the author of the post below for calling this girl BIG, although she's obviously very thin. That's what she is. It's a neutral observation without any negative connotation. Suggesting she is "too big" or "gained weight" is simply ridiculous and downright offensive.
