It paid for application for an event.

Since he didn't meet the clearly stated standards for the event, no entry.

$45 application fee, plus $50 late application fee, and free entry if application is accepted. The problem that I see, is that they openly advertise that kids without the standards may be accepted to the meet. Hopeful kids like the op will pay the application fee. The NSAF doesn't provide enough transparency in it's selection process. Therefore, the NSAF's selection process could be considered misleading, especially to minors. Bold print doesn't negates the NSAF's responsibility to fairness.

You misread the situation, tough. You may wish to contact New Balance, their reputation is important to them, maybe next year they will deal with someone else with different rules.

We all get suckered from time to time. Consider this a lesson, one will you remember far better for having paid $90 to learn it.

They provide a really easy service to use: you send an e mail to them before you enter and they will tell you if your entry will be accepted. That simple and they never, ever boot you after you've been accepted.

Also, $95????? The entry deadlines are very clear. Why is it not the OP's responsibility to enter on time?

So that means that colleges need to accept everyone who applies and pays a fee?

I took my son to the meet, and compared to the previous two years we went, it was poorly set-up this eat. The meet has went more-so on the corporate side of things in their search for money.

10 dollar parking for one, then we waited to the 3rd and final day to receive our backpack, as they told us to check in each day. By the final day, they had no backpacks and would NOT be ordering any.

The events were HOURS behind at some points and the officials all seemed to be old and tired and pissed off. The only saving grace to the meet, some of the top competitors in the country. However, I do see a shift to the Brooks PR meet, and I support it after the shi* show I saw at New Balance.

Not entirely true. I agree that Day 1 was pretty bad in terms of staying on schedule. Day 2 was dead on though. The problem with backpacks was created by people signing up late. They very clearly said in the registration info that entries submitted after a specific date were not guaranteed a backpack. I did see something after the meet, however, where NB said they would be willing to get backpacks to anyone who didn't get theirs. I'm thinking it was on the meet website.

Dude, you sound like one of the meet officials. We get it, you included all these loop holes in the waiver. Part of the registration was a bag, it's not big deal, however, it becomes one with such a "high class" apparent meet.

Needless to say, New Balance will be overtaken soon. This is why.

This is also why Footlocker stays over Nike, they treat their athletes top notch.
