Most of the inhaled asthma medications are threshold medications and you don't need a TUE unless you are using quite a lot of it (often the threshold is above the recommended dosage).

Would Virgin even have questioned this if not for the impressive post-race workout? Per his FB update, Galen and Salazar "...are definitely making a statement here! Why do this kind of workout after such a hard race...and risk injury or illness? What is Galen taking or doing... that is giving him such amazing recuperative/restorative powers?" I think like many of us, Virgin just doesn't 'get' the post-race track workouts, from either a benefit standpoint or a lack of reward one. Clearly Salazar believes it works and it certainly seems to. Craig just sounds old here.

Fam noted his suspicions months ago in that great roadsmillslaps interview.

Reads to me like 2 former elites who have no proof whatsoever speaking out of their @ss. Just because they could never have done such a workout they can't believe it's doable. Never mind Rupp was light years ahead of them, comparatively, in HS.

Yes. Because both Virgin and Fam are undeniably credible sources. Do you have anything concrete to back up your claims? Or is it just more guesswork and hearsay?

I stopped paying attention to CV the person after seeing his FB posts over and over again, making every thing about him, (not including this one) The one that topped it off for me was when he replied to Jack Waitz after Grete passed away. Like everyone, CV passed on his condolences but then managed to insert a "well as you know such and such happened to me, so I can relate" comment. Classless, tasteless...

Lol, yes, yes. they don't do $hit. which is why nearly every professional team and d1 school uses them, because they don't do anything. No research to back them up.

My 2 cents:

Everyone at that level should be under some level of suspicion. Sports fans have been burned too many times to think otherwise. That said, Rupp does seem to be under a bigger microscope. His progress since HS has been very steady and he's been able to stay relatively healthy, giving him long bouts of consistent training. Maybe he's simply one of the all-time U.S. greats. I do have my concerns too. Mo's 3:28 is the biggest red flag as far as I'm concerned. But, in their defense, Alberto has said they were going to emphasize speed. I'm suspect, but feel as though others should be under the same level of scrutiny. For example (and just a short list),

Conley's 4:24.

Gouchers. No offense, but they come across as two people willing to sell their soul.

Solinsky's sub 27.

Ironically, Salazar gets bashed for being secretive, yet he's been far more open than the Schumacher group about their training.

Finally, people like Goucher and Magness either need to come forward or shut up ("like" a comment on FB is chickens*t if you have more information).

Last year Rupp was tested 24 times by the US Anti-Doping Agency. Presumably he was also tested by WADA. Let's stipulate, then, that he was tested every two weeks. I could see someone like Armstrong, a bully with clout, manipulating the process, although he came up positive a few times and needed to explain them away. Also, the testing procedures weren't as precise as they are now. I could see someone who is tested, say, only 6 times a year, or maybe even ten, having the process down so pat that he/she could dope and avoid detection. But it seems to me that if one were doping, and one was tested every two weeks, something would show. So I'm interested if someone would attend to this issue. Now, asserting of course it's possible to avoid detection, look at Marion Jones--but that doesn't cut it: different times, different testing procedures, different number of times tested. And also asserting that NOP can do anything they want also doesn't cut it. So, I'm asking how could one cheat the system systematically? Incidentally, by way of comparison, Tyson Gay was tested 10 times last year and he was caught. Also, if Rupp is doping, why did he beat Evan Jager last year by only 1 second in the 5000, when presumably Jager was not doping? Why didn't he crush him?

Don't know about the drugs, but we do know that Rupp and NOP have every tool for training and recovery out there. This has to be a huge advantage. Add to that Nike $$ and you see the results they are getting. Is it unfair, I say no because if anyone on here had to the chance you would jump at it.

Although i really like-d Craig as a runner and what he had to say-i have to dispute whether Rupp being on enhancers is wrong.

The blame is with the "grey" area that has been available to those who can manipulate the system. That doesn't make them dopers. Look at politicians, the manipulate the "grey" area all the time.

Look, hes been doing these types of workouts all the time since he started with Alberto, although i find this one fantastic ( but who hasn't had fantastic workouts now and then)after races-or the next day. We have not seen documentation of his other workouts from every race hes run to compare if this is anything outstanding-other than the times and distance we see of this one after the 2mile record.

I am not an Rupp o Al S. lover but-hes been doing these workouts since he was a kid.

Also he was sick the week before this, having rested this past week-may have helped more than not.

Long post I know.

But,what will come of this is that |Alberto will hold closed sessions and not let anyone in to these workouts so there will be no understanding of what goes on-or comparisons to this and that. I'm sure of this.
