So you don't think Salazar owes just as much to Rupp? The only person to be all in with some of Alberto's far out ideas from the beginning? Rupp has been the real guinea pig since the beginning. Alberto didn't make Mo Farah, he just straightened him out a bit, something I think a lot of coaches were capable of doing. He made Rupp, but only because Rupp was willing to go all in with everything Alberto has suggested.

This is my view as well. Galen has been "all in" with Salazar from the beginning.
Galen Rupp is human and bound to deal with these emotions. He's gone from being Salazar's stallion to Salazar's stallion's training partner. Maybe this will light a fire underneath him to bring about some change, whatever that may be...
Another reason Rupp should focus on the 1500/mile for the next year or two is that it takes him out of Mo's constant shadow (Rupp is the Robin to Mo's Batman right now) and aligns him with an equal partner in Matt Centrowitz.
rupp does not need to focus what so ever on his 1500.
nor does he have to focus on his conditioning.
he over-cooked it. seems the difference between rupp and moe is that rupp probably leaves more on the training track, with fantastic workout only he and salazar know about.
this year, the reports are the the workouts indicated he was in better shape than last year, the silver medal year. and he had that great indoor season. he had to overcook it at some point.
next year, he should back off 10 percent or so from what he did this year. he's got the conditioning banked. and i'd have him back off from going too hard in those workouts that make you think you are the world's best, and he might be on that workout that day. but again, that's leaving the A game on the training track.
as far as wondering what salazar is doing, well rupp probably thinks slaazar got him a 6 figure income, and a silver, and moe thinks salazar got him a low 7 figure income and a basket of golds.

First of all it's "Mo", not "Moe".
Rupp races better when he's NOT in Mo's shadow. Use that information as you will.
As long as Mo is the 5k/10k king it makes no sense for Rupp to focus on those events.
