If so, it should go to Berea, Ohio. USATF should not be risking this meet to any place in California. With Stockton now filing bankruptcy, that makes four major California cities, with more to follow. Will Sacramento be next? And speaking up for Des Moines, if they did bid, they should get the meet. They do a competent job, they have a decent track stadium, and they have an actual organization in place.
Indianapolis. USATF is already there, the stadium is the perfect size, great track, plenty of hotels right down the street in downtown. Indianapolis is centrally located and the weather is fine in June.
I heard from a pretty reliable source that coaches are starting to book rooms in Sacramento for next year. Sacramento State is also the only worthwhile stadium with mondo on the west coast.
Further, it is also an off year from championships so they might as well test out Sacramento for future Olympic and World Trials.

A better solution would be to not hold USA's at all in years where there is no meaning to it.
i hate this attitude. and i'm sure i'll be annoyed by how many athletes skip the meet next year.
it's a f*cking national championship. that should be important to everyone regardless of whether medalling qualifies you for a global championship.
Rupp wins 1500.
As a person who used to live in that area, what about having it at Norfolk State University? Other than the fact that the track/school itself isn't in the best of areas, there are plenty of hotels/things to do nearby. I suppose heat/humidity would be a big factor, too.
