Alan Webb's win over Lagat in NYC was phenomenal. He never feared Lagat's kick one bit and this is when Lagat was closer to his prime.
Awesome.

Anyone who says anything other than THIS is an idiot.
Obea Moore in the CA state meet 4x400. He made up like 20m in the final 100m. Unreal.
Nothing says distance like a 4x400.
I agree that Geb over Tergat in the 10,000 Olympic final is the best finish.
Other finishes I like that you need to see:
1980 5,000 Ovett vs. Treacy

Early 1980s 10,000 Gidamis Shahanga vs. Steve Jones

And how can you top this finish?:
1971 10,000, last 300m in 36.8, Väätäinen vs. Viren

OK, I have to go run fast now. Thanks for all the great finish videos, LetsRun.

It's great to wathc, but only 13.9 based on my calculation. So not really that fast. Impressive though nevertheless.

Dieter was a major PED user.
Ovett 77 euro
Ovett WR 2 mile. Passed Rono at 100, started waving to the crowd and clowning at 95, ended up gapping Rono by 20 lengths over the final 100.
Tirunesh Dibada
Vaatainen 10K 71 Euro's.

Being a little more serious, this was Webb at his zenith and the last 100m is one of the best I've ever seen from anyone:

Just looked at that video of Vaatainen, and I really don't think his last 300 was 36.8.
There are a lot of markings on the track, but there are no clear curved lines at the 1500 start line (last 300m) or the 3000m start line (last 200m), as you often find on tracks. There are however, 3 small white poles spaced out at what I would strongly suggest are the 100m markers. After hitting the bell in 26:58.8, he then passes the 1st white pole on the infield at 27:13.5 (last 300m of 39.2), the 2nd at 27:26.2 (26.5 last 200) and the 3rd(which is clearly at the 100m from home mark) in 27:39.3, giving him a last 100m of 13.4.
I make his last lap splits: - 53.9, 39.2, 26.5, 13.4 or 100 splits of 14.7, 12.7, 13.1 & 13.4.

Just had a look at that race on a slightly better quality video of the race.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fR4DSd3aSAYIt was actually faster than 13:25 at 13:12.5!
It was one of the strangest global 5000s I've ever seen. They only started running with about 180m to go!
The last 4 x 100 on the last lap went 15.5 (62.0 400 pace!), 15.1 (60.4 400 pace with only 300m to go in an Olympic final!??)
Now there is no mark on this track that is clear for the last 100m. But what is visible is a line representing 110m from home and another at 90m from home. Baumann passes the 110m mark at 12:59.7 (giving a last 110m of 12.8 (11.6 pace for 100m!) and the 90m mark at 13:02.0 in the race. That's a last 90m of 10.5, which is 11.7 pace for 100m. So his last 100m was either 11.6 or 11.7. Lets take 11.6, meaning he'd have hit the 100m point in 13:00.9.
So the last 2 x 100m would have gone something very close to 13.6, 11.6.
Last lap splits then were: - 55.8, 40.3, 25.2, 11.6.
The reason he was able to run such a fast last 100m is down to the penultimate 300 being a fairly pedestrian (for a last lap in a global champs) 44.2 (58.9 400m pace).
