You boys were just born at the wrong time in history. 100 years ago, before minorities gained civil rights and even before women had the right to vote - you didn't have to share a thing. Picture it, it must have been grand for the caucasian male, slaves, land ownership, voting power, education - all to yourselves.
Now you have to share. This means you get less of the pie. Instead of being excited that you live in a world that is trying to balance the scales - you cry. You act like selfish, indulgent little children - all you do is think about yourselves and how everything affects you. Why not be happy that opportunities are extended to more people now? No, you can't because you are too self indulgent. Spoiled.
You are wrong third choice when you say that Title IX hasn't increased female participation in sports - it has increased in tremendously, and if you'd like to show me your stats, I will show you mine. Just as civil rights opened doors for people of color.
No one said you have to be the greatest athlete to play sports in high school and college. How did you guys come to be the judges of athletic abilities anyway? If it weren't for your African-American Female and Male sprinters at the Olympic Games, the US wouldn't even get a medal in recent years. White US males suck at the international level, so they should cancel all male events at the Olympic trials past the 400 meters. BECAUSE YOU SUCK!!!!
Have a Merry Christ-filled Christmas.

I don't know why you think we are the sexist ones, when you are the one who is stereotyping. Anyway, you must have missed my post where I mentioned the Mark Twain quote, "There are Lies, Damn Lies, and Statistics." Sure, women participation in sports has increased drastically since Title IX was passed, but was it due to Title IX? You see, you need to look at statistics from BEFORE the law was enforced to see what the trend is.
For example, in 1972 the NY Knicks made the finals of the NBA Playoffs, and the number of girls in athletics rose. Now, can I say the number of girls in sports is affected by the aforementioned event? No, because I have no evidence. Just as you have no evidence that just because Title IX was passed, that female participation in sports has risen. I will now repeat statistics that are facts, that I've presented in other threads, and that I will analyze for you.
Year Approximate Percentage of Girls Playing Sports
1966 1.9%
1971 3.7%
1972 11.1%
1979 25.0%
2000 37.5%
Now, 1972-1979 is a period that can be considered a quasi-Title IX period. That's because until December of 1979 there were no regulations on the enforcement, which means that the law really had little effect. Now, even if you count that... The number of girls in sports in 1972, when the law was passed, was SIX TIMES what it had been just six years before. That's an unbelievable jump, especially considering that your favorite law wasn't even on the books yet. Then, even if you count the next 7 years as Title IX years (although schools could do whatever they wanted without being disciplined), the number of girls in sports increased to slightly more than double what it was before. This is a much slower rate of increase than in the 6 years prior, but it's still an increase.
Now, in the two decades since Title IX has been enforced, which is as far as decent data goes, the number of girls in sports has increased by merely 50%.
Feminists all over the world jump at that statistic... "A FIFTY PERCENT INCREASE!!!" Of course, they don't mention that the rate of increase of girls in sports had increased at a much, much higher rate in the years prior to the law.
So, my point to this long post is that you need to try to figure out some causality here, and decide if the law really did anything. The statistics presented here suggest that the answer is "no."
