Pearson is an Aussie and believe me, she get plenty of recognition and love in her own country . Not to mention she won the IAAF 2011 (w) athlete of the year.

You know what you get for medalling in the Olympics? A MEDAL. And the right to say, forever and ever, that you were an Olympic medalist. That's all you can count on.
Anything else - be it media attention, endorsements, whatever - is in no way guaranteed. I'd think that every professional athlete would know this going in.
Otherwise they end up sounding like some high school guy who complains it isn't "fair" that the girl he likes doesn't like him back. They like who they like, the media cover who they cover, and "fairness" doesn't really enter into it.
The advantage medalists have is that medals, unlike media attention, last. I'd rather be able to tell the grandkids that "I went to the Olympics and got a medal" instead of "I went to the Olympics and people paid a lot of attention to me." (Though either one is pretty cool.)

Dawn Harper is an awesome person with an open heart. She tells it like it is (after being asked on the Today Show), what is wrong with that? She's direct, as is Kellie Wells, and both give direct statements, no sugar coating. Male athletes make direct statements all the time and the media doesn't churn it into a dog fight.
SO How much longer will this drama continue with the media stirring the pot? Maybe Oprah will have the 3 USA hurdlers on her show for analyzation and a floodfest of tears. Anything seems possible these days.

I have no problems with her being direct about how she feels. The problem is WHAT she feels. Her jealousy over Lolo's media attention proves that she IS NOT an awesome person. If Dawn was awesome she would not be jealous, she would work harder at getting sponsors and media attention. She wouldn't hold some personal grudge against Lolo for capitalizing on the attention that she is getting. Does Dawn expect Lolo to turn down interview requests because she didn't win a gold medal?

Maybe harper was celebrating a PR and it had nothing to do with LOLO. She ran great! You can only control you! That is what is good and bad about our sport.
