Don't complain when you don't make standard before the race. Learn to peak earlier and hold it. He was horrible for 2 months before trials. A Canadian high school kid kicked his ass in June.

I am going to do something a little different here and praise Leer for his racing abilitites.
These Trials were bad for him but he has a history of exceeding expections.
Last year he was 5th. Take out Lagat and he missed top 3 by .01 seconds. He beat Torrence and Lomong.
3:36.33 put him at the 10th fastest American in 2011.
In 2010 he was 3rd, ahead of Torrenece Centrowitz and Brown.
3:37.26 put him at 11th on the US list.
In 2009 he was 5th at USATF and 3:37.37 was 9th on the US list.
At the 2008 Trials he was 4th, ahead of Webb, and 3:37.63 was 11th on the US list.
This year he equaled his PR of 3:36.33 so far, but that is only #15 on the US list to date.
He's a good runner, an even better racer, but just hasn't been good enough to make a team.
But he has been good enough to get frustrated by it. That's all I'm seeing here.
