Idiot. He merely detailed how he planned to get that many miles in every week.

So, anyway, the pussification of America is true? Who isn't able to figure out how to do 100 miles a week? It may not be easy, you may have to sleep a little less than what you want, but with determination and motivation you'll find time.

As mentioned earlier, there are plenty of sports that demand more hours of training. If they can, runners can.

He says he goes back to his sprint coach in canada once a year to work on his sprinting form, any small aspect of it. He probably gets assigned some drills or exercises which he does regularly. I'm intereted on knowing what kind of drills he might be doing which helps him change gears into his sprinting form at the end of a race.

Right, Cam is very interesting in his interviews.

My impression from the last 2 race videos is that he does not change his form when he sprints, keeps a very low, fast, floating style and just puts a lot more into it.

Bernie Montoya has a very similer style when he sprints.

Levins' style is the opposite of changing to a power driven sprint. Rather than this, he stays very efficient, with a distance running style and very simply increases the power.

I ran some of these this morning after a long run and enjoyed them.

Of note too is that he only runs them once in a week or two.

How is that relevant? Its a long time from 6 AM to 6 PM. If you are trying to say 10 PM is late, no it's not. But if it really is too late for you, sleep half an hour after training/lunch/dinner.

I know several engineering majors who train like beasts. Don't blame your degree just because you are lazy.

i'm sure most of us on this board do them two or three times a week.

they're called strides.

i'm a fan of cam though. i think he's showing the younger kids and college runners the right path to distance success. doesn't seem too conserned with extra crap, except for the strides (which are very very common), he's just out there getting in milage. and by doing so, the smaller aspects that people nowadays tend to focus on sperately, (muscual coordination, form, core strength) follow suit.
