The Lady Eagles will make their first appearance at the state cross country meet as a team on Saturday . Johnson City is coming off a 70-point victory last week at the Class A, Region IV meet in San Antonio, where sophomore Whitney Wood finished seventh after running the two-mile race in a team-best 13 minutes and 13 seconds. Finishing 20th was her sister Brooke. Another sister, Kiley — the Woods are triplets — came in 29th.

I know someone very briefly mentioned them in the father and sons to go sub-4:00 list, but they deserve a separate mention, the Kip Keino/Martin Keino combo is incredible. Both were incredibly talented milers.

In Kenya, we have the Cherono brothers(steeple chasers): Stephen Cherono aka Shaheen Saeed

We also have the Masai family: Moses, Dennis and Linet

Ismael Kirui's brother, the late Richard Chelimo and their cousin Moses Kiptanui are also a well known running family.

What about the Garritson family? Kids were pretty dominant in their pre-HS days.

Has to be the Cherono Family 3 of the brothers are World Champs. (Stephen Cherono, Abrham Cherono, Christopher Kosgie same family). Also have to sisters that were pretty good and I think there is a 4th brother running in College somewhere. And a 5th brother still in High School.

My vote's also for the McChesneys. Great family. Great runners.
