Women's individual qualifiers?

I guess it's convenient to lay blame on LV, but where was the rest of the amazing Oregon class? Where's their famous depth and crunch time performances? If your program has withered to a non-qualifying status from second two years ago, the blame should probably fall on coaching.

A team should not sink or swim on a single individual, particularly not one who had no shot at being a low stick this year. If your team's success is based on the performance of a freshman, and not even your best freshman, then you have bigger problems to deal with.

It was really cold for LV to walk away from the team. But his performance should not have been what made or broke Oregon's chances. They just ran badly. The whole team. And any blame, if blame must be doled out, lies with Vin, not LV.

I think he blamed LV because Oregon made a decision much earlier in the Season to redshirt most of their great freshman class--thinking LV was one of their 5 guys. Notice that they ran only Puskedra (senior), Stinson (sophomore), Elkain (freshman), DeJarnette (Junior), Kwiatkowski (Senior), Shrader (sophomore). Other than Elkain, they did not run their freshmen.

They ran well at the meet that counted most (Wisconsin). His biggest test as a coach will come next year.

I'm reading some complaints about the push rule. It seems like every school in the country is not going to have the budget to fly to these big meets so it seems appropriate to have the rule.

If you can't make a field with 31 teams do you really deserve to have a team at NCAA's? It used to be 22 teams.
