I heard he ran a 3:32 1500m time trial, and then two hours later, a 27:10 10K time trial, then enlisted in the marines, where he will be deployed to Afghanistan, and, barring death, will return in two years after his tour so he can run two more NCAA seasons.
Not sure on his fitness level but I saw on an interview with FloTrack that he recently got a new dog with his girlfriend. It is a greyhound/dalmatian mix that he got from a shelter that had a whole bunch of dogs whos owners still haven't claimed them/died from hurricane Katrina. The saddest part of the story is the dog only has three legs. Most dogs can do quite alright with three legs, but the fact that it is also paralyzed from the waist down makes life especially difficult for it. Of course the leg that is missing (amputation from green grange) is a front limb, thus making his non-amputated forelimb the only working limb on the dogs body. They tried hooking up wheels to the back of the dog so it could sort of "hop" around from place to place, but tragically the dog tried to do this down a long set of stairs and broke its only working limb (the wheel contraption also broke apart). So right now the dog is just totally immobile.

German moved to NY to join Gabe Jennings, Fam and Alan Webb in the new band "Sub 4". German plays keys and squeeze box, Fam bass, Jennings drums and Alan sings and plays lead guitar. The band is a mashup of speed metal, hip hop, Tejano, and DC style Go-Go. They are currently playing out in small clubs in Brooklyn and just across the river in Bergen, with a few run-outs to Boston and Philly. German, Alan and Fam are still training for the US trials and 2012 Olympics with Jennings taking over the coaching duties.
I heard Kirubel Erassa had a good morning run with German. Ergo - German will put the hammer down come nationals.
