For the women's 5 and 10 this is who is listed -

5,000 - Molly Huddle, Amy Hastings (B), Angela Bizzarri (x), Jen Rhines (B).

10,000 - Shalane Flanagan, Kara Goucher, Jennifer Rhines, Desiree Davila.

I think what would make the most sense would be to send Huddle and Rhines in the 5 and Flanagan, Goucher, and Davila in the 10. But for that to work it seems like Hastings would have to drop out of the 5.

Jen Rhines hit the 'A' standard in London with her 15:10 so it could technically be Huddle, Hastings, and Rhines in the 5k if Rhines decides to double

Story says team will be finalized in early August. Anyone know day it actually will be announced?

I have been saying this for over 2 years and it always falls on deaf ears because of the Kara lovefest on letsrun. Desi has her number and Kara knows it. She has way more strength at the end of a marathon and she will only get stronger. Kara bragged about how ready she was before Boston and in a very recent interview...out came typical excuses.

Desi will beat her in the trials and so will Shalane. Just who will get third is anyone's guess but Kara is not a shoe in. Argue and throw out all the stats you want, but Desi and Shalane are on their way up, Kara has flattened out.

That's very true. When Kara was in her very good shape in 2009, she was only a bit ahead of the up and coming Desi at Worlds in Berlin. There really is no competition now. Desi is way ahead in the Marathon
