Let's see, he just ran the fastest 5k ever by an "american" and he is not new on the circuit and now he says he needs to work harder in the next few weeks to be better?!?! My BS Meter just went off. Decent interview but hardly telling of what actually needs to be done to be the best in the world. Will World's even be a fast race, or a tactical affair? Looking back at Lagat's AR - did he really run a smart race? Could he have made some tactical modifications and shaved a few more seconds? Would that still be enough?

Less mileage faster. Hmmm, I think I heard that from another guy that's doing pretty well.
Same thing goes for Morgan Uceny at Cornell. I don't want to criticize Rojo, but how many years have we been hearing what I would call high mileage bullshit from JK? How many excuses have we heard like how hard a school Cornell is? What international results does this "genius" training have? Nothing. Morgan goes to the same school, runs 25mpw in college apparently, now up to 50 with Terrance, and she's the DL leader. That's the bottom line right there.
Unlike the negative losers around here, I see a WHOLE BUNCH of Americans who could come back from Deagu with medals (I don't mean to imply that they're all going to win medals, but I think they have a shot):

no, it's part of what makes Lagat so good that he repeatedly evaluates his conditioning and training at important points in the season and makes changes that bring him to championship form, just as in 2007, after Lagat was destroyed, and double gold medals resulted.
