Two pages and not a single message of the world's most-watched running event, the Hakone Ekiden? There are a lot of popular multi-day road relays in Japan, many with TV broadcasts.

Most days, there would be no "packs" errr.."peletons". How fun would that be to watch. Besides, you can't coast when running. For the most part, watching the tour, you see a large pack of riders, coasting, eating and sprinting at the end or really working when they get to the mountains..........go ahead cyclists, slam me!! This race as described, would be nothing more than another "ultra"...which no one would watch....go ahead and slam me "ultra runners"....
Give me a fast 400, 800 or mile any day.

There is (or was) I in England. I think it was called the Tour of Thames or something like that. One of the running mags had an article on it some years ago.
That would be Tour of Thameside. I lived in UK at the time ('70's) Cannot recall the details, but it was about a week of various distances and surfaces each day - tough. I remember Eddy Hellbyuck (sp?) won it at least once.
