I really like the way Christin went for it. I know she is taking grief now because it didn't work but she ensured the 3 of the fittest ladies would make the team and ultimately that was her best chance. If she had let the pace be slow like the men's race was, she likely wouldn't have made the team either as that would have let a few less fit women (such as Willard) with great kicks into the race, plus added the chances of getting boxed in, tripped, etc.
As it was, she decided her best chance was a quick pace and almost pulled it off, just a slight miscalculation on her part (maybe a second or 2 too fast the first lap).
In a slow tactical race I think she was probably 5th or 6th and instead she was 4th only .01 off of 3rd.
