They start school later in Lithunaia than they do in America

This resulted in him being 1 year older than others in his grade, upon moving to America

At the end of his sophomore year (age 17) he decided to take on extra classes in order to skip his junior year and graduate the same age as everyone else in America

This now makes him a high school senior who just turned 18.

That's a great result being his first race in a long time. If he was able to go at it a couple more times, he may get sub 4. Anybody have his splits?

Can you count?He was a freshman 2 years ago. One... two. Now, he's a senior. How did that happen? He must have been old for his grade earlier, but due to the fact that he is now a senior, he must have skipped a grade in order to be a regular-aged senior. Duh. I mean, if you can't remember how many years ago since you first heard about him running 14:19 as a freshman, then let's just say common sense is not your strong suit.

There we go... we learn that his family decision was to be fair and have him graduate at 18. That's proof.

Will they reset the Frosh and Soph records accordingly? Doubtful.

Regardless, the 4:03.88 is third on the all-time indoor list which puts him in pretty good company.

Most people already knew he was graduating a year early, you know, with the whole Verzbicas to Oregon thing. Pretty sure the NCAA doesn't allow that kind of thing with juniors.

Now, my younger brother just turned 20 before finishing his HS senior year. The dude lost 2 years due to being a major goof off. Needless to say, he did not go to college. Manual labor is his life; auto mechanic.

Do you think Germann could have run 4:03 after his shoe fell off, if he had really gotten after it and not just coasted in to a 4:14? I know a 34s lap is pretty rough, but not insurmountable for a 3:55 guy.
