Leif Ericson was not the first European in North America. There were probably a lot of unnamed fishermen who landed in N.A. but Bjarni Herjolfson is at least one person whose name we know who landed before Ericson.
Norway was conquered by tribes from Siberia-Mongol region who traversed the tundra during bibical times. Leif Ericson in 1000AD and every present-day Norwegian is mixed race from Northeast-Asian nomads and aboriginal Western European stock. Though many Scandinavians during Bibical times were primitive dwellers (i.e. pre-Aboriginine).
